A crowded restaurant full of guests on the left; on the right the scene opens into a barren landscape of rock formations where a woman in red hovers.

Beyond the Crowded Room

On one side there is density: people, conversation, social life. Immediately beside it an open, almost empty landscape begins. A woman dressed in red hovers between these two realities. The picture describes the contrast between outward belonging and inner freedom. One can be surrounded by people and still long for an entirely different space. “Beyond the Crowded Room” is about that passage from the outer to the inner.
